Homework and Grading Policy

 

Language Arts

 

   - Reading - 45%

    - Writing - 45%

   - Preparedness - 10%

Homework is an important part of student learning. All assignments must be labeled with the child's first name, last name, date, and the class (LAL A or LAL B).  Writing and work must be neat, clear, and organized. Sloppy work will be handed back to be redone. Pencil is required on all assignments unless otherwise directed.

Homework will be checked for completion and scored according to the following system. Overdue assignments must be submitted no later than one day after the due date to receive 1 point credit as late.

 

            2 points: Assignment is complete and on time
            1 point: Assignment is incomplete or one day late

            0 points: Assignment is missing or late beyond one day            

Homework completion will be checked daily. A homework grade will be posted for each assignment, as warranted.

 

When children are absent, requests for homework should be made early in the day to allow me time to prepare materials. Thank you!
