                              Extra Credit Opportunities 

                     Also Located on Google Classroom 

 

Extra credit guidelines.  

 

  • You are only allowed to do one extra credit project per quarter.  

  • You may only choose one extra credit project once.  

  • You cannot recreate the same project.  

  • Each project is due one week before the marking period ends. 

 

Extra Credit Projects: (As we learn more throughout the year, I will continue to  add more projects)

 

  • Draw and label a map of Mesopotamia.

 

  • Make a wheel - graphic organizer displaying Mesopotamian inventions.

 

  • Build a model of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

 

  • Create a timeline of your life.

  •       Create a timeline using the terms B.M.B (before my birth) and A.M.B. (after my birth).

  •       Fill in the timeline with five key events that happened before and after you were born.

 

  • Comic Strip

    • Select an event from history.

    • Draw a comic strip that shows the event.

 

  • The Tabernacle-
  •       Read the following Bible references to the tabernacle. -Exodus 25:1-9, Exodus 26, Exodus 35:4-19 Exodus40
  •       Make a model of what you imagine the tabernacle was like
  •       Record the activities which took place there.
  •       Research what happened on the Day of Atonement andrecord your discoveries. 

 

 

  • Mother Teresa- 
  •          Research a famous quote of Mother Teresa that your are going to try to live by this week.
  •          Create a poster using your quote. 

 

 

  • Current World Issue or Conflict
  •        Think of a SERIOUS crisis, conflict, or problem/issue that is happening now somewhere OUTSIDE of the USA. Check in with                   me before picking something.
  •        Research it and create a 3 paragraph written report.
                      The more detailed your work is the more credit you can earn.
                      If you present the written report, you can earn an extra 5 points. 
  •        Use the following questions to aid you.
  •                Define it: Explain what the crisis is... 
  •                History or Origin: Explain how this came to be (the background of what led to this situation)
  •                Location: Where is the conflict or what area(s) are most affected?
  •                Who: What groups, people, countries are involved or affected by this?
  •                Sides: If it is an issue/conflict, usually people on each side...explain each perspective.
  •                Possible Fixes or Solutions: How can this be fixed?  What are some possible ways to end the conflict or remedy the                            problem? Who needs to do what?
  •                Probability of Resolution: Is this something that will be resolved/fixed? What obstacles are in the way of this being                            solved? Do you think it will be fixed...by when? What might need to happen before this is put to rest?
  • Make sure that share ALL website addresses and titles of articles. Do not use Wikipedia.
