An important note about PowerSchool:
As grades and assignments are constantly being added, a student's grade will fluctuate throughout each marking period. It is up to each student to perform strongly from the start through to the end, as the grade reflects both understanding and effort throughout each quarter.
To help use PowerSchool as a tool for active learning, at some point during the course of the year students and parents may see the following codes in place of a grade. It is up to the student to take the appropriate action in order to rectify these matters and have the grade adjusted.
- abwa = absent when assigned
- this only applies to rare occasions when an assignment has not been posted to Google classroom
- if the assignment was not posted to Google classroom, student is responsible for obtaining missed work/directions from teacher
- abwc = absent when collected
- student is responsible for submitting work upon returning from absence
- abt = absent when tested
- if assessment was announced ahead of time, student is required to make it up upon returning to school
- if assessment was not announced ahead of time, student is required to make arrangements for make up
