Why I decided to become a teacher:
When I was in the 7th grade, I had a Social Studies teacher that changed my life. In his classroom, we were people, not just kids. He inspired us to do the best we could and be the best we could be. There were no limitations and anyone's best was worthy of an "A". Not only was he there for his students inside the classroom, but more importantly, he was there for his students outside of the classroom. He also used some of the most innovative teaching methods I had ever seen to not only engage students, but to truly make them learn. I watched him inspire not only me, but so many of my fellow classmates. Students who were not doing well in other classes prospered in his. I want to make a difference in people's lives like I watched him do class after class. This is why I decided to become a teacher. One day, I hope to become the kind of teacher he would be proud of.
