Hello Parents!

As you already know, I am Dawn Richard, your child's teacher for the 2015-2016 school year. I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach and learn with your students. It was great to either meet you at orientation or talk to you on the phone. I realize I have a group of very active and dedicated parents and supporting family. I truly appreciate you! I will share a little information about myself.

I am married and my husband and I have five beautiful children. I am a graduate of Southern University and A&M College in the college of Education. This is my second year as a Pre-K teacher in Pointe Coupee Parish and I absolutely love it. I am also working on a Master's degree in Early Childhood and Diversity.

My love for children and education was grown and nurtured by my mother and grandmother. My grandmother is a retired teacher of 37 years and I love her so much! She instilled and inspired me in so many ways and she has everything to do with who I am today. I am a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School asst. superintendent, and I have been the director for both the Youth department and the Vacation Bible School. I am also a part of the Christian Education board at my church.

My goal for this school year is to bring out the superhero (best) in each one of your children. Every child has different abilities and I want to help each child achieve his/her personal best. Our goal and mission here at Rosenwald is to achieve proficiency and I know that together we can do this. Keep doing what you are doing because I know that you are working so hard with your students. I will continue to facilitate, encourage, and motivate each student to achieve their own personal greatness! I look forward to continuing the successful partnership we have created together!
