This year Rosenwald Elementary will be implementing
"THE 12 POWERFUL WORDS."
These are the words that stump students when they take standardized tests. Students may feel intimidated or confused by these words causing them to answer a question incorrectly when they know the answer.
Why Pre - K? We want to get them familar with these words, and to incorporate them into their everyday language, so when they reach the upper grades, they are familar with them.
What can you do? You can check out these words http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hs0sV7YpURY. You can use them with your child on a daily basis. Have your child make up their own questions utilizing these words. By incorporating these words in your child's daily life you will be helping to boost their academic achievement.
