What kind of calculator do you need?

 Algebra 1 Students

* Students may use the same calculator they used in middle school (TI-30X IIS).

* You may buy a plain 4-function calculator.  You can often find them for under $5.

* If your student is responsible and you want to buy a calculator to last them all of high school and maybe college,    I recommend the TI-83 Plus, TI-84 Plus or TI-84 Plus CE.  They are expensive... $95 and up.     Although not required for our class, it can be a helpful tool when we study graphing equations.  The TI-83/84 calculator is permitted when taking the ACT.

I have a classroom set of TI-83 graphing calculators, but students will not be allowed to take them home.
