I.Course Name: Introduction to Business

 Grade Level: 9-12

 Credits: 2.5 

 Prerequisites: None

 

II.DESCRIPTION: Business: An Introduction is a course designed to introduce the student to the business world.  Topics to be covered include an introduction to the economy ; business ethics; entrepreneurship; the role of money and banking an introduction to and examination of the world of finance, including saving, investing, budgeting, credit, and effective and practical money management; a brief exploration of the area of insurance; and awareness of new trends and emerging technologies.

 

III.ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:

 

  1. What information is needed by citizens to make them educated consumers in our capitalist economy? 

 

      B.What economic knowledge would an entrepreneur need to achieve success in our society ?                      

 

      C.   How do individuals and businesses plan for financial success?

 

      D.What knowledge will best prepare consumers as they determine the best manner to purchase goods and services ?                

 

       E. What tools would consumers use in order to determine how to maximize their income and future savings and investments?
