History of Greeley School
Please help us to research, record and share the history of the old Greeley School that was torn down. We need your writing, photos, artwork, videos, and data. Please send them to [email protected] Thank you!
Greeley School students are using primary sources of information to record and share the history of the old Greeley Elementary School. Primary sources means information from people who were actually there. This history has never been recorded until now so there aren't any websites or books about the history of the old Greeley School. A little Greeley School history...
Greeley School was built in 1978. The first day it opened, the students walked over to the new Greeley from the old Greeley School carrying the text books.

The original Greeley School, was built in 1893 and was located at the northeast corner of Sheffield and Grace. This photo was taken in 1911 by a photographer for the Chicago Daily News. The photo comes from the Chicago History Museum and can be accessed by following this link.
