Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to first grade! We look forward to working with you and your child as we develop a community for learning based on respect, responsibility and cooperation. Our mission is to provide rich opportunities and experiences in order to prepare all students to achieve success both academically and socially, as we learn and grow together.

Our first day of school is Wednesday, September 6th.  As the school year approaches, many parents enjoy "Back-to-School" shopping with their children. Please know that all the supplies your child will need this year will be provided for him/her. There is no need to purchase "typical" school supplies such as pencils, crayons, folders, box of tissues, etc. If you have already purchased such items, you are more than welcome to bring them in.  However, please know that sharing supplies is an important part of building our classroom community and learning to respect and care for our classmates and classroom. The supplies your child brings in will be used for the entire class. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Below is a list of optional school supplies that you can purchase to be used at school. Again, please note that the items below are suggested materials/supplies only.  If you are not able to obtain the suggested materials/supplies be assured that each child will be provided with any supplies needed for his or her instruction per policy 5492 which states, "all school related expenses that are part of the instructional program are to be financed from budgeted funds."
