WELCOME TO FIRST GRADE!

Welcome Letter 2023 - 2024

 

 

Dear First Grade Families,

 

 

This will be a positive year for your child as we build on past successes and learn new and exciting things in first grade! With home and school working together, your child’s academic and social skills will become even stronger throughout the year.

 

As the school year approaches, many parents enjoy "Back-to-School" shopping with their children. Please see the first grade supply letter and know that all the supplies your child will need this year will be provided for him/her. There is no need to purchase "typical" school supplies such as pencils, crayons, folders, box of tissues etc. If you have already purchased such items, you are more than welcome to bring them in, but please know that sharing supplies is an important part of building our classroom community and learning to respect and care for our classmates and classroom. The supplies your child brings in will be used for the entire class. Thank you in advance for understanding.

 

First grade is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning! I am looking forward to a very exciting and productive year working with your child.  I will strive each day to make learning a fun and enriching process for your child.  However, I need your help in making this year as successful as it can be!  I believe that you and we are a team working together to help your child develop emotionally and academically.  You are the most important person in your child’s life and you are also a teacher in your child’s life.  I know that if we work together and communicate, your child will have a very successful and exciting year that he or she will never forget!

 

Please make sure to pack a healthy snack every day, including the first day of school. It is important that you have a nutritional snack to get through the morning. Also, important papers will be sent home in a FOLDER, please make sure to check and clean out the the binder daily.
