Dear First Grade Families,

        Welcome back to school!  As you know, reading is one of the most important skills your child will ever develop.  Studies show that children who own books at home are more likely to succeed at school.  When children read because they want to, they develop and improve their skills without even realizing it.  You can help by making books a visible part of your life.

          As you’ll see in the flyers that come home, these book clubs all offer an incredible range of age-appropriate selections.  There is something for every interest and reading level!

          There are two easy ways to order books.  You can look through the flyer with your child and return the order form with a check made payable to “Scholastic Book Club” in a labeled envelope to me by the due date. The other option is to order online. Here's how it works:
* SIGN UP at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs. On the parent page, click the 'Register" button in the "First time here?" section. Register for your own user name and password. When prompted, enter the one-time class activation code J8JQZ. This unique code ensures that your order is sent to me!

* SELECT the books you'd like to order---- choose from thousands of titles ----- many more than in our monthly flyers.
* SEND your order to me online by the due date and your child's books will be delivered directly to our classroom.

 
The books will be delivered to Adamsville about two weeks after we submit the order.
