I am truly looking forward to spending 1st grade with you and your child! Please let me introduce myself. My name is Samantha Slim or to your children, Mrs. Slim. This is my fifth year teaching. I earned my level 1 teaching certificate for the state of Louisiana in 2012. I graduated from New Mexico State University with my Masters in Criminal Justice and my Masters in Public Administration in 2011. Wanting to make an impact on our society and realizing that the best way to do this was to teach our future leaders and citizens, I decided to join the Teach for America program. deciding to join Teach for America to become a classroom leader was very important to me. I really want to make an impact in our society and teaching your children is an honor that not many get to experience! I am currently in my fourth year of teaching at Rosenwald Elementary School. This was my placement school my very first year as a member of TFA. It is now home!! I love to see my 1st group of 1st graders now in the 5th grade. I am truly inspired daily by your wonderful children and our community.
