Our Week in Review
* Each week we have a focus question that guides our teaching.
1/6/20-1/10/20
Focus Question #1: What kinds of animals are pets? What are some characteristics of pets?
*Ask your child about wild and domesticated animals.
*Ask your child if they remember the characteristics of pets (some have whiskers, some have feathers, and some have scales.) The children were able to touch and feel real feathers from my pet chickens and hold a real whisker from my pet cat!
*We made a graph about animal characteristics (see attached picture)
*We played a version of the game "Red Rover" in the garden.
*We listened to a book Puppy is Lost while sitting in the garden.
*We watched part of a Wild Kratts episode about an elephant who couldn't find its mom. At the beginning and end of the episode, we saw footage of a real elephant using its trunk and being together with its herd.
*We read books in the library about different types of pets.
*During centers, we pretended to be veterinarians taking care of animals.
*And we did an amazing job earning pom-poms in our Pom-Pom Pockets!!
