In an attempt to make class function as smoothly as possible the "1-2-3 System" is used in class.  This system creates an environment where students are informed of how the system works in order for them to understand the expectations of what is appropriate and inappropriate classroom behevior.  In this system when a student is not engaged in appropriate behavior they will get a count of a 1.  If this behavior continues or they engage in another form of behavior that is inappropriate they will get a count of 2.  If it continues they will get a count of a 3 which results in a timeout at which time they will discuss the situation with me and develop a method of exhibiting appropriate classroom behavior.  Afterwards they reset to a 0.  The next time they counted to a  3 disciplinary action will be taken.   Students who get counted at all will reset to 0 at the beginnning of the next class.

Some behavior however is so egregious it will result in an "instant 3."  Physically assulting a student, verbal assault, vandalism, behavior that constitutes bullying, etc. are some of the examples of "instant 3"s and will suffer immediate disciplinary consequenses.
