Fundations 

Fundations is a scientifically based multi-sensory program that provides students with systematic and structured lessons on the foundational skills needed for reading and spelling.  It emphasizes phonemic awareness, phonics-word study, high frequency words study, fluency, vocabulary, handwriting, and spelling.  

Each Unit will present a new sound that we will focus on. Please take time to review the parent letter that is sent home in the beginnning of each unit. This will provide you with a wealth of information so you can support your child with how to read, spell, and mark words containing the sounds. 

Included in each parent packet are the weekly Trick Words. These Trick Words are our Spelling Words. Your child is responsible to learn to read and spell these words. Feel free to use the flashcards sent home to make games. The children will be tested on these words regularly.
