The BRRSD PreK-4 Music Program Description and Vision
An education in the arts (music, visual art, theater and dance) is an essential part of the academic curriculum for the achievement of human, social and economic growth. As music teachers we play a pivotal role in this part of a child’s development. The music program in the BRRSD is based on a spiral curriculum in which all major musical concepts are taught in every grade. As students continue into the upper grade levels, concepts evolve according to their age and musical development. In an effort to summarize the BRRSD music curriculum, we have comprised a list of standards we teach in our PreK-4 music program.

A Promise to Our Students
We strive to cultivate and nurture the musical abilities of all students. Within our schools, we benefit from working with children of varied backgrounds, children with special needs and children from a wide range of ethnicities. It is our belief that each child brings their own gifts to the classroom. We work diligently to create lessons that will support and develop each child’s strength as a musician, but most importantly a confident and caring individual.
