What Parents Should Know for the 2024 Festival
This year we are faced with the “good problem” of having a tremendous number of students eligible to sing in the Choral Festival. Due to the number of performers that participate in this event, and to the capacity of the gymnasium at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, each performer may have a maximum of 2 audience members attend the concert. To ensure that families get to see their students perform, the elementary schools will also be providing a recording of the concert shortly after the event.
-
Grade 4 singers wishing to participate in the Festival (optional) must be registered via this linkby February 23. We cannot accept registrations past February 23.
-
Participating students will need to be in their spot for rehearsal in the BRHS Gym at 6:00 pm. Students should use the bathroom before this time.
-
The festival performance will begin at 7:00 pm.
-
We are asking students to leave their coats and other belongings with their parents when they enter the gymnasium. Students will not need any items with them on the bleachers.
-
We need several volunteers to assist our students from each school - please click here if interested.
-
The BRHS Choir Parents Organization will be in the cafeteria selling refreshments for families during our pre-concert rehearsal and after the concert ends.
Parking
Parking will be available in the teachers’ lots and Basilone Field lots. The Police Department will be rigorous in the enforcement of parking regulations. No parking is permitted on the roadways and driveways except in specifically marked parking spaces. This includes both the roadway that circles the large oval on Garretson Road and the roadway that runs around the back of the Campus. Please carpool and allow extra commute time if at all possible! Parking is limited and this is a very large concert event.
Concert Dress
Students should wear all black. A black t-shirt and black bottoms (or as close as possible). Sneakers are fine; please no slippery soles or high heels.
Music
The elementary schools will sing two songs: J’entends le Moulin (4th grade only) and Blessing (all students grades 4-12).
Concert Program
There will be a digital program available via QR code for you to view on your phone or print at home.
After the Concert -- VERY IMPORTANT (please scroll down)
Only one parent should come to the bottom of the bleachers to retrieve their children. We have told students to wait until they see their parent reach the bleachers before walking down the aisle. Thank you for following these staff directions to ensure the safety of all students.
