7th Grade Concert Band

Description:

Concert Band is a grade-level course open to all wind, brass and percussion players. You must schedule this class through guidance. Concert Band performs a wide variety of music ranging from concert overtures to marches, Broadway tunes, orchestral transcriptions and popular music. A student must be in concert band to be eligible for Wind Ensemble and for the Jazz Ensemble’s wind and brass sections.

Concert Band has two components, band ensemble rehearsals and small group lessons. The band rehearses every other day during the student's band period. This will be on an A day or a B day. Please check your school schedule! There will be one rehearsal outside of the student's normal band period before each concert for the entire ensemble to rehearse together.

Lessons are scheduled once a week during the student's physical education period. A student’s lesson time will stay the same for the entire school year. Lesson attendance is required and every lesson is graded. Schedules will be made available in early September.

Note that communication for this course is primarily done through our Google Classroom.
