Hello!!!
Welcome to 5th grade! We hope you are enjoying these last few days of summer and finding lots of time to spend with your family and friends.
I know the start of this school year is an another odd one...to say the least. However, just because it's a different start doesn't mean it has to be a bad one. In fact, every year, my class makes it a point to take on challenges, figure out solutions and end up as an example to other kids and other classrooms across our school district. In previous years, we were responsible for bringing engineering to Flocktown and, recently, all of the Long Valley elementary schools. Last year, our 5th grade students and teachers came together, rose up, and became leaders when we were tossed into the virtual life. The example that came of those efforts is serving as a starting point for us all.
Now, it's your turn. Based on the amazing things I have heard about each of you, I know that we will again "blow the doors of the place" and completely rock school, no matter what the environment. I have a fantastic year planned for us. We will be learning a greater depth of mathematics, science and engineering. Be prepared to put in some hard work that is also fun and innovative and that will leave you feeling proud of yourself and confident.
There are so many details in regards to how the classroom will run this year, that we have to save it for another discussion...coming soon. We will talk more about this the first day of school. Our class is 1 class and stronger together and WE--NEED--YOU! We need your questions, your ideas, your comments, your spirit!
Fifth grade is a lot of fun and you’ll be amazed by how much you’ll learn about the world and about yourself! Have a fantastic rest of your vacation. We look forward to seeing you soon!
