END OF THE YEAR PROJECT INFORMATION:

As you all know, there is an extensive end-of-the-year project that has already started.  All CP Biology and Anatomy students completed a citation practice assignment about "Why is the sky blue?"  The Project Proposal was also due either 3/11 or 3/13.  Even though my classes TYPICALLY don't complete the 3-page paper portion of the project until the 4th MP, we may complete it earlier ther year (if necessary).  YOU NEED TO HAVE THE GRADED PROPOSAL TO WRITE THIS PAPER!  IF YOU HAVE NOT SENT ME THE PROPOSAL, PLEASE DO SO ASAP!!  I WILL GRADE IT AND GIVE YOU FEEDBACK ON WHAT YOU NEED TO CORRECT FOR THE 3-page PAPER!

THIS IS A VIDEO OF ME WRITING A PROPOSAL FROM SCRATCH!!!

I HAD TROUBLE OPENING THE DOCUMENT WHEN I JUST CLICKED ON IT!  WHEN I RIGHT-CLICKED AND CHOSE "OPEN IN NEW TAB," IT OPEN UP FINE!!

It's a little long, but I pretty much cover everything you would need to write a perfect proposal!!

Project Proposal Guidelines:     PHS semester 2 project proposal (4).docx

Sample Proposal (with Works Cited):   Sample Proposal.docx

NOTE:  This proposal is longer than many of yours will be!  There are FIVE sources on this Works Cited that are also cited in-text.  A proper proposal needs 2 sources (that you mention in paragraph #2) and the final paper requires at least 4 sources.  ANY material that you get from a source needs to be cited wherever it is in the proposal or paper.  If your introduction has information that you got from a source, cite it! If you use more than 2 sources for the proposal, that is fine as long as they are all on your Works Cited and cited in-text!!

Project Guidelines for Final Paper and Presentation (this also includes MLA formatting rules, how to do in-text citations, the rubric for the final paper and the MLA Format Agreement):  PHS Semester 2 Project 2020.pdf

Sample paper with a proper Works Cited:  sample paper Number1.docx ,  works cited sample paper Number1.docx

Use quotes sparingly.  Most of your research should be paraphrased into your own words (and cited).  From the MLA FORMAT AGREEMENT (that you WILL sign before turning in the paper):

"To paraphrase correctly, your wording must be substantially changed from the original. Changing a few words, eliminating sections, or rearranging information does not constitute paraphrasing."

REMEMBER:  NO FIRST PERSON IN RESEARCH PAPERS!!!

Feel free to e-mail me a partially-completed paper for me to look over if you are unsure whether you are doing it correctly or not.  Please have some citations already included and at least one source on your Works Cited.
