How can I volunteer?

-The Home & School Association is a great way to get involved in Quinton Township School and the comunity.  They are eager for volunteers and will accept any help/time you can donate.

What can I do if my child is having a problem academically, socially, or behaviorally in school?

-Contact me via email, phone, or a note and we will set up a conference to discuss options and solve any problems that may arise.  If it is a serious situation, we will sit down with the building principal or a member of our child study team.

What can my child practice at home?

One of the best things you can do for your child is to read aloud to him/her every day! Reading a story each night is a great way to calm down before bed and to gain important future reading skills.

Hold conversations with your child so that he/she learns how to talk and listen. Use rich language to describe objects you see. Ask questions. Have your child make predictions about things that may/may not happen.  Rhyme and sing songs together.  Model proper sentence structure and vocabulary so that your child can learn the correct way to speak.

Help your child identify his/her name (on their bedroom wall, a labeled toy, an invitation, etc). Begin with working on the first letter of their name (For example: F is for Finlaw).  If he/she is ready to write, encourage your child to do so! Model how to draw the letters from the top to bottom and left to write.  Talk about the curvy lines and straight lines that different letters have.
