In this class, we will be using Scholastic Scope and Storyworks Magazine. We will also improve students' writing through various types of essay writing, journal writing, and prompted short answer writing through Writer's Workshop. We will also strengthen our test prep skills in this class and use reading passages to improve our independent reading skills.
This class focuses on Writer's Workshop. Throughout the year, the students will write in a Writer's Notebook focusing on three different generes of writing: Narrative, Argument, and Information Writing. Students will strengthen their vocab. skills by using Vocab. books and completeing unit tests and exercises.
