During the Seventh Grade year in art, students will explore portrait drawing as well as an in-depth study of The Seven Elements of Design. The first marking period we will be discussing the influence of well known portrait painter, Chuck Close. We will close look into the element of design, value. We will use drawing pencils with various lead weights to create the many values in a black and white portrait drawing.
Ours second project will an abstract piece of artwork breaking down each element of design seperately:

4. color
5. texture
6. form
7. space
