6th Grade E Social Studies
Course Description:
The E Social Studies classes will complete the grade level curriculum content, and then extend and individualize learning through inquiry based projects. The course promotes creativity and higher level cognitive skills through creative thinking, open-ended questioning, group interaction, higher levels of thinking, variable pacing, articulation, and leadership opportunities.
Grading Policy:
- Students enrolled must maintain a B- average to continue participation in the program.
- Students earning a marking period grade of a C+, C or C- will be counseled by the teacher and guidance counselor.
- Students earning a marking period grade of C+, C or C- a second time will be removed from the course.
- Students earning a marking period grade of a D+ or below will be removed from the course.
Student Expectations:
- be well organized.

- be prepared daily for class discussions and activities.
- work cooperatively and positively on all group tasks.
- readily access information from various media sources.
- communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
- work independently and manage multiple, concurrent, and long term projects.

- complete all assignments on time.
