Good Luck in Third Grade!
To prepare for third grade and keep practicing the skills learned in second grade, here are some things you can do over the summer:
- Keep a journal of all your summer adventures.
- Complete the Summer Math Challenge each week. It will be a grade when you return. Information is in your report card envelope.
- Practice your cursive by completing any of the pages we didn’t do in our Handwriting book.
- Read as many books as you can. Take the Summer Reading Challenge. This will also be a grade when you return. Information is in your report card envelope.

Barnes & Noble - Read 8 books, fill out the reading journal, and turn it in at Barnes and Noble for a free book (2026 Reading Journal was in report card)
