 Good Luck in Third Grade!

 

            To prepare for third grade and keep practicing the skills learned in second grade, here are some things you can do over the summer:

 

  1. Keep a journal of all your summer adventures.

 

  1. Complete the Summer Math Challenge each week.  It will be a grade when you return.  Information is in your report card envelope.

 

  1. Practice your cursive by completing any of the pages we didn’t do in our Handwriting book.

 

  1. Read as many books as you can.  Take the Summer Reading Challenge. This will also be a grade when you return.  Information is in your report card envelope.

 

  1. Check out the following fun Reading programs:

 

https://www.bookitprogram.com/ - Pizza Hut Book It program. Read books and earn a free personal pan pizza.

https://www.chuckecheese.com/activities-and-downloads/reading-rewards-calendar-english/ - Chuck E Cheese reading reward program. Reading Calendar was in report card. See website for more info.

Barnes & Noble - Read 8 books, fill out the reading journal, and turn it in at Barnes and Noble for a free book (2026 Reading Journal was in report card)

https://www.hpb.com/summer-reading.html - Fun reading resources and there is a way to log minutes and earn points towards free books.
