Welcome to Second Grade!
I am looking forward to working with you and your child next year in Second Grade. To prepare for Second Grade you should complete the Summer Reading Challenge and the Summer Math Challenge. Both challenges will be a grade when your child returns in September. Information on both programs was put in your report card envelope.
To keep the skills you learned in First Grade fresh in your mind, you need to continue to read and write over the summer. Keeping a summer journal is a good way to practice your writing. If you keep a summer journal, you can bring it in to share with the class in September.

Barnes & Noble - Read 8 books, fill out the reading journal, and turn it in at Barnes and Noble for a free book (2026 Reading Journal was sent home in report card)
https://www.hpb.com/summer-reading.html - Fun reading resources and there is a way to log minutes and earn points towards free books.
