About Mrs. Klansky:
     I've been teaching first grade in West New York for 21 years!! I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Rutgers University and obtained my Masters in Literacy Education from NJCU.  I am a certified Reading Specialist and I continue to take classes to expand my knowledge of students and learning.  I am very happy to have been P.S. #2's Teacher of the Year in 2013. I LOVE teaching first grade.  I believe it is such an important time of learning, growth, and discovery.  
     I believe students need to be active participants in their learning world and I support a classroom rich with hands-on experiences.  I incorporate centers, group work,  Author's Chair and Reader's Theater across the curriculum.  We utilize centers 3-4 times a week and have flexible seating in the classroom.   I love to READ and encourage my students to do so each and every day!  

      I have a son in 8th grade and a very energetic dog at home.  My family loves to hike, bike, and travel in our spare time.
