Welcome to my Third Grade Class!

Some of you may know me as a First Grade Teacher here at #5 School.  I have been an educator at #5 School for 29 years! When I was offered to become a third grade teacher I was ecstatic for the opportunity and ready for the challenge!  I became a teacher (39 years ago!) because I'm passionate about helping children see and understand our world in new and exciting ways.  My love for children is the reason I continue to teach! I believe that all children can learn as long as they believe in themselves! Children need to be encouraged to never give up, and give you my word that I will never give up on any child as long as we work together!

All children deserve to be loved and nurtured.  All children deserve to be educated in a positive environment, with positive reinforcements.

As I mentioned, this year begins my 29th year of teaching  here at #5 School.  Before my journey at #5 School, I taught 10 years in a Catholic School.  I did take a leave for 3 years to focus on my 3 beautiful children.  I am now the very proud grandmother (nana) to a grandson Luca Anthony who is 4 and a half years old and a  granddaughter, Vera Ann who turns three this Sunday, September 7th! My, how time flies by!

I am honored and humbled to say I was chosen PS 5's "Teacher of the Year" for the 2020-2021 School year and also for the 2004-2005 School Year.

While I'm especially commited to building strong literacy skills, I also love exploring Science and Math with my students and help them connect what they learn to the real world.

This year your child will be learning challenging new skills like multiplication, division, fractions, parts of speech, and writing complete narratives.

I sincerely believe that a great parent-teacher relationship is very important for your child's academic and social success.  I have a lot of great and fun activities planned for the year and hope to make your child fall in love with learning. I am looking forward to our partnership together this year to help your child learn and grow.

You may contact me with any concerns through email [email protected], Class Dojo, My Google Classroom, or by calling our school requesting a meeting.

There's so much to look forward to! Together we can make this a great year of learning!
