GRADING- Your grade in Social Studies is broken into weighted categories.
- Please note that most assignments will receive a grade based on points.
- 9 out of 10 pints = 90% = A-
- Your letter grade is calculated based on the percentage of earned points / total possible points
30% HOMEWORK/CLASSWORK/PARTICIPATION:
this includes daily focus activities, short/1 day assignments and group activities, work done primarily in class, ISN or notebook checks, and class participation.
* Graded primarily for effort/completion
* Daily participation grade = materials, behavior, tardiness
* Focus ACtivity Sheet- completed daily, handed in each Friday
* Homework assignments should be on time andn eatly done to the best of your ability
35% ASSESSMENTS - tests and quizzes
35% GRADED ASSIGNMENTS:
including projects/graded work, on-line Lesson Games, graded worksheets, written responses, multi-day assignments, ccurrent events
* typically receives score based on rubric/checklist
* reading challenges - to be completed through TCI site
*late work will be penalized/lose credit
HOMEWORK
- Homework is listed on the board and can be found on my calendar as well.
- Students are expected to write all assignments in their agenda.
- District homework policy.
CHECKING GRADES
- Please check your grades once a week.
- Link to gradebook access. Password required for access.
*You can use this link to review your child's progress in class. This is a great tool to check on homework completion or see the score on assignments. Please note, final grades will often shift dramatically as new assignments are entered, especially early in the semester when there are relatively few grades entered overall or if all categories have not yet been filled.
