MATH HOMEWORK
Students will have a math practice sheet related to the current topic and daily lesson to complete each night. Practice sheets are expected to be returned the next day. Students should also practice their basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts several times each week.
BASIC FACT PRACTICE:
To be successful in 3rd-grade math you should study your basic facts frequently. Basic fact knowledge is the foundation of all math. Students who do not master their basic facts are not effective problem solvers and tend to develop negative feelings toward their ability to do mathematics.
Ways you can study your facts:
- use flashcards (a deck of cards works great too!)
- play a math game on the computer
- have someone at home write facts on paper for you to solve.
- Complete a fact drill worksheet
