Welcome students and Families!
My name is Dr. Brown-Bartlett and if you are in grades 1,2,7, or 8 I will be your Physical Education and Health Teacher! I will also be teaching grade 3 Physical Education! I am very excited to meet you and get to know you. I am starting my 14th year at Hatch and love the Parkside community. Over the years I have coached many sports teams, taken students to the the Penn Relays to compete, to Rivershark stadium to enjoy a baseball game and chaperoned many dances and trips. As you can see I like to be involved with my students.
Education is my passion. Physical Education and Health are required subjects by the State Dept. of Education in New Jersey. Additionally, these subjects are valued by President Obama and Mrs. Obama on the national level. I believe that good health begins in PE class. This year your children will participate in movement, dance, fitness, lifetime activities and a variety of team sports.
I NEED YOUR HELP!
Research shows us that students succeed best when parents are involved. I ask you to help me give your child the best educational oppotunities I can. This website will be updated every Sunday so families can stay informed. You can help by making sure your student is prepared on PE day. Thank you!
Grades 1-5 Wear sneakers and slacks/shorts on PE day.
Students will not be changing clothes in these grades.
Grades 6-8 Students are required to change from uniform into Tshirt,
shorts/sweatpants and must have sneakers.

HEALTH CLASSES
Students will meet for health class once a week. Class is interactive through use of multi-media presentations, discussions, project-based learning, and research. Students need only a pencil and notebook in order to prepare for class.Homework will be given weekly and projects monthly.
This website serves as a communnication link between families and myself. Check back weekly for assignments, rubrics, and updates. Course syllabus for grades 6-8 is on the left hand side. Syllabus for grades 1 & 2 wil be posted by August 30th. Please email me or call with any questions!
