I want to welcome you to our Second-grade classroom. Let me first start off by telling you a little about myself. This will be my 19th year teaching. I have taught first grade for 7 years, Kindergarten for 2 years, EIP for 5 years, and Second grade for 5 years. I have taught at Burnt Hickory since the doors opened in 2008. I received my Bachelors Degree in 1999, my Master's Degree in 2002, and I received my Specialist Degree in 2016.

   This November I will celebrate my 21st wedding anniversary.I have two beautiful daughters. Shian is 14 years old and will start high school. Shelby is 5 years old and will start Kindergarten. We have a yellow lab. Her name is Belle. I speak Greek fluently. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family making lasting memories. 

   Teaching is such a rewarding experience. I love to see the growth in my students from the first day to the last. I am excited today as I was 19 years ago to be teaching.

   I know your child will enjoy second grade. You will be amazed at everything your child will learn this year. I will make it the BEST possible experience for your child. My goal above and beyond all else this year is to give your child a love for school and for learning.

   I hope your summer has been full of fun and excitement. I can't wait for your child to tell me all about it. I am beyond excited to have your in class. I am looking forward to a FABULOUS year!!
