Daily Homework
Homework is given to reinforce skills learned at school. Kindergarten homework consists of an reviewing weekly sight words and reading every night.
The R.E.D. (Reading Every Day) Book folder will go home every night. Your child will have a chance to go the the Media Center to take out a library book. The books at the beginning of the year an adult may have to read to your child. By the end of the year, some of the books your child may be able to read to you! Once you read the book, please write the title and sign your initial on the book log located inside the folder. Have your child return the book back to school, and they will be able to get a new book! Any book counts- it can be a book at home or a book from the public library. Simple write the title and initial.
Sight Word practice should also be done daily for mastery. Every Monday, your child will get new sight words in their M.O.U.S.E. binder. Please practice these words nightly. Sight Words will be tested throughout the school year for a grade on the report card.
