INTRODUCTION TO SPANISH COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is a basic introduction to Spanish language. It is assumed that students have no prior knowledge of the language. The goal of this course is to help students begin to effectively communicate using Spanish and to understand basic elements of the Spanish-speaking world and its culture. Focussed attention will be paid to giving students the opportunity to develop the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. In addition, attention will be paid to the study of Spanish and Latin American culture as understanding culture affects good communication with native speakers. This course is highly interactive and positive classroom participation will be extremely important for maximizing learning for the entire class.
