Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. A.A. Milne
Hello Bobcats,
Welcome to a new year at East St. John Preparatory Academy! My name is Monica Griffin, and I am excited about being your child’s 5th grade math teacher. This is my 26th year teaching, and my 7th year teaching 5th grade math. I am looking forward to the great year before us as we SOAR TO NEW HEIGHTS as a class.
It is an honor to teach your child math this year. I know that we will all have a very exciting, busy, and wonderful year. Fifth grade is such an important year for children and their parents. My goal is to help your child grow academically as well as socially. With this in mind, I hope to provide a comfortable, well-structured, and exciting learning environment that will focus on this growth.
I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best this year to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning experience in the classroom. However, I cannot do this alone. I need your help and as partners we can work together to ensure that your child reaches their greatest potential in this learning process.
I hope the information in this letter will answer some of your initial questions about this school year and my class. I will work hard to support your child in all ways.
I look forward to a successful year for all of my new students. Again, welcome to fifth grade!
Sincerely yours,
Ms. Monica Griffin
