Make Up Work

Students are responsible for their make up work and they will not be reminded by me. All make-up work can be obtained and printed off of the computer or hand written from the computer.  All bell work, planner and other make up work will be updated every Friday afternoon.  Students can go ahead and get notes that are posted but will still need to check the make up folder for anything extra.   

Major Test Grades

Certification Test:  Most test are for NCCER certification and I am the only one that can administer certification test, therefore retakes, makeup test and labs will be held after school on a TBD date when needed.  Students and parents will have a weeks notice of this date and time. If time is allowed during class, test can be made up or retaken.  Each test must have a 48 hour wait period before the next test can be given.  

 

Retakes/Makes Ups

Students will be allowed to retest on all major and certification test.  Student's will be able to retake certification test as many times as needed, waiting no less than 48 hours after each test, to score a 70% to earn NCCER Core and Carpentry Level 1 credit.  Student's will only be allowed to use the first retake to improve their class grade.  Example:  If you scored a 60% on your test and then come for retakes and score a 67% I will change the grade in the class grade book from a 60% to a 67%.  This will give you a passing test grade in class but not a passing grade for NCCER, therefore you would need to retake test until you score a 70% for NCCER credit only.  Remember you must wait at least 48 hours after each test therefore make ups and retakes are on Wednesday afternoons to meet this requirement.  Some exceptions due to testing dates, so students might have to wait the following week.   

Late Work

Students are responsible for turning in their work on time.  If they miss the deadline for any assignment the following will happen.

1 Day late=25% deduction   

2 Days late=50% deduction   

3 Days or more=75% deduction

 

Incomplete Assignments

 

If a student does not complete an assignment the following will happen.

 

Minor Grades

       A zero (0) will be given for the assignment and punishwork (minor infraction) will be given to the student for not participating in the activity.

 

Project Grades-Individual Assignments

      The student will be placed in ZAP and based on the in class time premitted for the assignment the student will earn a maximum of 50-80% of the total points. 

 

Project Grades-Group Assignments

       The students will have to schedule a day after school or during club I days to present their project to me.  If there is no presentation needed then late work procedures will apply.
