TEACHER/CLASSROOM STAFF:

Miss Tara:
I have been working with students with Autism for the past ten years.  My career and training began at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center in New Brunswick, NJ where I worked from September of 2000 through August of 2004.  In September 2004, I began teaching the preschool ABA classroom servicing students with Autism Spectrum Disorders which was, at the time, the only ABA classroom in the district (I am happy to say that there are currently nine ABA classrooms servicing students ages 3-14).  In September 2006, the district was opening the first K-2 ABA classroom and since all my students were transitioning to this classroom I decided that I would go with them.  I have been teaching this grade level ever since.

Educational Background:
I am a Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst (BCABA). I received a B.A. degree in English from Rutgers University where I also attended all coursework necessary to be eligible for my board certification.  I received my Teacher of the Handicap Certification from William Paterson University where I have also taken courses towards a Masters Degree in Special Education.

Cathie began working in our classroom in November 2006.  She has been a fabulous addition to our classroom family.
