In order to make the most educational gains, it is very important that there is an open line of communication between both home and school.  Either myself or a paraprofessional will write information regarding your child's school day and any other concerns or comments a minimum of three times a week.  This is not only for us to share more information with you, but should serve as a way for you to discuss your child's day with him/her.  I encourage you to ask your child to recall daily events of his/her school day.  Such will address not only communication/conversation skills but also recall skills.

Furthermore, it is equally important that you share information regarding your child's afternoon/evening/morning at home.  There are a variety of situations and events that can affect your child's day in school (i.e. lack of sleep, being denied a specific desired item or activity, change in routine, medication, etc.).  Please try to inform us of such instances as often as possible.

I also encourage you to come in to our classroom to observe your child and to discuss any specific issues or concerns. To arrange an observation, contact me via your child's communication notebook, email, or phone.
