CommonSense.org - This site has it all. It discusses topics many parents of teens are interested in: cell phones, Facebook, dating, etc. It also provides reviews of books, movies, music, TV shows, video games, etc., letting parents know the age-appropriateness and topics so parents can make informed decisions.
If you are curious about the book your child is reading, go to CommonSense.org Book Reviews. I LOVE this site! It provides honest reviews for popular books, movies, TV shows, etc. It tells parents/educators topics discussed and rates it for age appropriateness.
The book ratings are based on the following criteria:
Teal= Content is appropriate for kids this age
Yellow = Know your child, some content may not be right for some kids
Red = Not age appropriate for kids this age
Here's how it looks!
Here is another great website on book reviews. This site not only ranks a book on its violence, language, and mature content, but it also explains its ranking. This website even breaks down the number of times your child will read curse words. Very imformative! https://sites.google.com/site/parentalbookreviews/
