Hello and welcome to my class. My name is Tonia Smith. I am beginning my 15th year as a teacher. I taught at Cecilia Primary for 4 years, and have just completed my 12th year at Teche Elementary.
I graduated from Delcambre High in 2000. Then earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from UL at Lafayette, home of the Ragin Cajuns, in 2006. I completed my Library Certification in 2022 from UL at Lafayette.
In 2016 I had the honor of being nominated as St. Martin Parish's Elementary Teacher of the Year and Teche Elementary's 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family and friends. I presently live in Lafayette with my fiance, furry babies (cats:Quazzy and Marley) and Little Elvis (a bearded dragon.)
