Hi! My name is Jessica Bonura. My husband, Benjamin, Sr., and I have been married for 26 years and have 3 children together. Benjamin John, Jr., is 23 years old and is a classroom assistant in my classroom! Brody Luke is 22 years old and in the National Guard. He is currently employed with CPR A/C and Heat and is pursuing certifications in HVAC. Mason Paige is our baby girl who happens to be 20! She is currently attending SELU and is pursuing a nursing degree.
I have taught in Livingston parish for 14 years and at LOH for 7 of those years. I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelors degree in Mild/Moderate Special Education (K-12) and General Education (1-8). I have taught in the SD/A (Significant Disabilities/Autism) population all 14 years of my career and I absolutely love it!
I am also the sponsor of the LOH REACH club. REACH (Respect Everyone and Create Harmony) is a club that breaks down barriers among students with and without disabilities. REACH is made up of students from Live Oak High and other surrounding schools including Denham and Walker! Live Oak High students have set an example by embracing an inclusive environment within our school and community. Being a part of REACH provides an experience that promotes friendships and exclusivity.
