Making Plural Nouns

 

Add an –s to most nouns.

            cat         cats

 

Add an –es to nouns that end in –s, -sh, -ch, -x, and –z.

            box            boxes         buzz            buzzes

 

When a noun ends in a vowel –y, just add an –s.

            Sunday           Sundays           key            keys

 

 

Abstract nouns are nouns that show a feeling or idea: hope, fear, honesty, bravery

 

Adverbs tell how, when, or where: quietly, yesterday, outside
