* Parent/ Teacher Relationship
A good parent/teacher relationship is necessary for your child’s success in school. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, weekly newsletters, 9 week report cards, and parent - teacher conferences. Parent conferences are always welcome. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I’ll be glad to schedule a time for us to meet. My email address is [email protected]
* Celebrations
Throughout the school year, there will be a variety of special classroom activities and celebrations. I encourage you to attend these functions when possible. Please support them by sending the needed supplies or treats. All items must be store bought.
- Birthdays are special occasions. You are welcome to bring a birthday snack for the class. Please inform me a few days before your child’s birthday so I can plan accordingly.
* School Attendance
Your child’s regular and prompt attendance is crucial to his/her success. Most kindergarten learning activities are group oriented and involve direct instruction that can’t be made up at home with homework.
- You MUST send a doctor's excuse for each day your child is absent. Excuses must be submitted within 3 days of returning to school.
* Illness
Please do NOT send medication of any type to school. If your child needs medicine, you must first fill out necessary paper work with the school nurse.
* Changes in Transportation
Students will not be allowed to switch to another bus unless it is a permanent change. All transportation changes must be received in writing. Students may not be checked out after 2:30 p.m. You will be asked to wait in the carpool line if it is after 2:30 p.m.
* Work Folders
Your child will bring home his/her work folder everyday. Please check your child’s folder daily. The left pocket will be labeled “Sign and Return” and the right pocket will be labeled “Stay at Home”. Daily notes, class work, and a behavior chart will be in your child’s folder. The papers on the “Sign and Return” side should be returned to school the next day. Please put ALL notes and money in your child’s folder because I don’t check book sacks.
* Homework
Homework will be a review of skills taught in class. Please have supplies at home (pencils, crayons, scissors, paper, & glue) to complete homework.
* Money
When sending money to school, place all money in your child’s folder. Please send the exact amount of money in a sealed envelope with the following information written on it:
- Your child’s first and last name
- The amount of money
- Purpose for the money (fundraiser, field trip, book order)
- My name (Ms. Tammy) or K-C
* Change of Clothes:
Your child MUST have a change of clothes in his/her book sack at all times – a shirt, underwear, and pants or shorts (depending on the weather). Please label ALL three pieces of clothing.
Morning Car Riders
* Reminder: Students transported by car may not arrive on campus until 7:35 a.m. For your child’s safety and well-being, please follow this school rule.
