Kindergarten News...

 

Dear Parents and Students, 

 

 Field Day is on May 15th beginning at 8:30. More information to come. Parents are invited!! Kindergarten Graduation is May 19th beginning at 8:30 in the gym. Parents are invited!! The Last day of school is May 21st, early release at 12:30. 

 

Field Day: May 15th
8:00- 8:15
Parents check in at the gym if you would like to set up a canopy and chairs for the day, you may in the grass area in front of the trailers.

8:15-8:30 Parents check in at the gym at 8:15, events begin at 8:30
Please sit in the bleachers. Your student may not sit with you in the bleachers. Sit back, take pictures and enjoy the event!

11:00 ish (maybe earlier) Lunch
Parents may pack a picnic lunch, bring in food(bring with you in the morning please do not leave campus once you are here), or buy a school lunch ($4.00 per adult) Your child MUST stay with the class during lunch. Students may NOT play on the playground. We will take a bathroom break as a class. Parents, please use the rest room in the teacher's lounge if needed. Please do not use the student bathrooms.

What will my child need to bring on Field Day?
Gym activities: Please dress your child in tennis shoes. They will not be able to compete if they are not wearing tennis shoes
Red Team: Our class is the red team. If you purchased a shirt for your student from Coach Carter, Mrs. Swenson will pass those out when the students arrive at school that morning. If your student did not purchase a field day shirt, no big deal; please have them wear a red shirt if possible.

Water Activities; YOUR student WILL get WET!!! Please pack a towel, sun screen, sun glasses, a hat, a change of under garments, socks, shoes, shirt, and shorts. NO bathing suits! If your child has water shoes, please send them in. Your child will wear a pair of tennis shoes to school, they will bring water shoes or shoes that can get wet (NO slides or flip flops) and a pair of dry shoes to go home in, that is a total of three pairs of shoes. One on their feet and two pairs that are packed.

After the event, parents are asked not to go back to class with their student.

Water Activities: 11:30 to ??
This will take place in the parking area in front of the school. You may move your chair (if you choose to bring one) to the sidewalk (SPLASH ZONE!)

After Events:
Mrs. Swenson will explain the check out procedures

Parents may not go back to the classroom after the events.

Digital Learning Days (DLD):

Students do not attend school on DLDs. Assignments will be posted on CANVAS for these days. Please contact your teacher if you have any questions.

 

Please use the red folder as the communication folder. If your child is absent please send in a doctor's excuse or a parent note the day your child returns to school. For Frozen Friday, the school is receiving funds through Rev Trac only, please no cash.  (Located on Paulding County website) www.paulding.k12.ga.us

Daily Practice Suggestions:

Practice tying shoes.

Letter Recognition (not in ABC order).

Read books to your child and have them tell you about what happened after reading.

Write numbers 1-50

Counting objects up to 100.

Counting out loud to 100 by 1’s, 5's and 10’s.

 

Classroom Procedures:

Please send a dry snack daily, a water bottle containing secured lid

Please send all money in an envelope, labeled with your child's name and the purpose of the money.

Please check communication folders, and remove items daily.
