Class DOJO:
On the first day of school/Open House/Kindergarten Parent Night, you will receive a log in number for your student to Class DOJO. This program will allow you to watch the success of your student while at school.
Different homerooms use DOJO in different ways. The county has a new App coming out soon to communicate with parents as well. As the information is shared, we will share it with you. Some teachers set daily goals, others set weekly goals. Please ask your teacher which goal system is being used in their classroom. DOJO only goal is for each student to earn two green DOJO points a day giving students ten green DOJO points by Friday. There are different categories that your child can earn from. For example: On task, helping others, participating, and many others. The students can earn gadgets from the treasure box for good behavior at the end of each week. To recieve a prize on Friday, students will have earned ten green DOJO points.
To improve responsibilities, there are also red DOJO points. These would include: Being off task, not prepared for class, respect for others, and many more. Our goal is for students not to earn red DOJO points, but everybody has a bad day. One red DOJO point is just a learning experience and the student will be redirected. Two red DOJO points in a day will result a cool off time in the classroom. Three red DOJO points, the student's parent will be notified by a phone call, DOJO text, or an e-mail. It is very helpful when parents use DOJO as incentives at home . For example: If your child earns 15 or more points a week, you could give them extra t.v. time at home or something else they can earn. This way, the student knows we are working together. Not all teachers use negative points.
