Rules and Regulations for Mrs. Renée’s Class
I. General Rules:
- Be Prompt – Be in the class before the tardy bell rings.
- Be Prepared – Bring all materials needed to class. You will not be able to leave class after the bell rings for material.
- Be Respectful – Be respectful of everyone’s point of view. It is ok to disagree, but everyone has the right to express their opinion, as long as it is in a non-vulgar manner. Treat others and their property as you would like to be treated. DO NOT WRITE on the desk.
- Be Responsible – Use your class time wisely and be accountable for your actions. DO NOT SLEEP in class. Sleeping in class may result in a referral to the office.
- You should remain seated at all times. If you need to sharpen pencil, throw trash, or anything else raise your hand.
- Remain silent when guest come to the door!!!
II. Procedures:
a. Class – Enter class on time. Be quite and be seated immediately.
- Begin “bell work” immediately. You willcontinue with the assignment until the teacher instructs you otherwise. All “bell” assignments will be graded a various times during the week so be prepared to have all assignments done. (This will result in a total of 100pts by the end of the 6wks)
- Notes – notes will be taken during class and will be used as a grade with the bell assignments. All test are constructed from the notes so it is in your best interest to have notes.
- Class discussion on lesson will be done. The discussions will help to express ideas and promote critical thinking. Everyone will be allowed to express their ideas. Discussions will help to understand the information. Do not be afraid to “add” to discussions.
Absences – You have 3 days to get, do, and turn in missed work. If you are absent it is your responsibilityto get the assignments that are missed when you return.
- If you are absent and a test is given then you 1 week to make up that test. Make-ups will be given only after school and by appointment with the teacher. Make-ups will not be the same test given. All material will be the same but the format of the test will be different.
- Do not ask me during class time about what was missed.
- If you will be absent for a test for an excused reason (school event, pre scheduled surgeries) then you may take the test early, but this is up to teacher approval.
Grades – Test grades will be given back as soon as possible. Make sure to record all grades given back. You may also check grades on the school web site.
- Test are constructed from the notes and class discussion
- Test may consist of matching, multiple choice, or fill-in. All test will have a short answer/constructed response section. (The number of short-answer/constructed response questions may vary for test)
- For test only blue or black ink or a pencil will be allowed. (no colored ink)
Personal Needs – Use time between classes to take care of “business” (restroom/water). Unless an emergency occurs you will not be allowed to go during class. If you must go during class then you may have to make up that time during recess.
III. Consequences – Failure to follow class rules will bring the following
- Warning and documentation.
- Call to parents.
- Referral to office.
IV. Materials Needed
- Tablet/Binder (used to take notes – 5 subject would last the semester)
- Manila Folder (to keep test papers)
- Pocket Folder (to keep handouts and study guides so they do not get lost. If your tablet has the folder area that should be good)
- Pens or pencils (only blue or black ink or a pencil will be allowed on the test)
- Highliter (to highlite test info on the notes)
Remember you are Juniors/Seniors and very close to graduating. It is time to be responsible young adults. Come to class, pay attention, do the work, and stay out of trouble and you will have an easy semester. If you do not then you will have to take this class again.
