History is an important part of who we are, and should be explored with enthusiasm.
My challenge to students is to open their minds to all possibilities, and to go beyond what is required. My class is based on constant open-ended questions that allow the students to challenge themselves and what they are capable of doing. Test are constructed for higher order thinking. This is so students think "beyond the box" and not just memorize like a robot. I relate many past events to present day issues to show students how history has a way of repeating itself.
