Second Grade Supply List

2014-2015

 

        

The following are the supplies your child will need for the 2014-2015 school year. Please make sure that your child is prepared to come to school with all the supplies by the end of the first week of school. Please label all supplies with your child’s name and homeroom number.  Supplies must be brought to class each day. 

    

Supplies Needed Daily:

• Backpack (NO BOOKBAGS WITH WHEELS FOR SAFETY REASONS)
• 8 composition journals labeled: Language Arts, Reading, Math, Social Studies, 
  Science, Spanish, PE, Home Learning
• 2 sturdy PLASTIC duotang folders with pockets: 1 Red folder for Home/School 
  Communicator; 1 Blue folder for Music
• 1 fabric/plastic pencil pouch with zipper (NO plastic boxes)
• 2 boxes of #2 pencils (NO mechanical pencils)
• 1 pack wide-ruled notebook paper
• 1 pair of Fiskar round-tip scissors
• 1 - 24 pack crayon box
• 1 pack of red pens
• 2 yellow highlighters
• 1 eraser
• 1 pack of glue sticks
• 1 pack of index cards

 

Optional Supplies:

• 3 reams of copy paper
• 1 Container of cleaning wipes
• 1 Antibacterial soap
• 1 Antibacterial hand sanitizer
• 1 pack of Dry-erase markers

 

All materials should be labeled with the student’s name. Please do not bring rolling bookbags (with wheels), trapper keepers, spiral notebooks, binders, liquid paper, rubber bands, tacks, clipboards, or toys.Please note that additional supplies and books may be requested by individual teachers at the beginning of the year, such as chapter books to be read in class and Time for Kids. Have extra supplies on hand at home so your child may replenish them as needed.
