English III - Pre-AP 

This is an exceptionally challenging course that will teach you to carefully read, analyze, and respond to works of American literature.  Through a close-reading process, you will develop the ability to analyze language with a greater awareness of purpose and strategy.  Additionally, you will strengthen your own composition abilities through a variety of written assignments.  The critical skills you will learn through close reading and continued analysis will serve you in your own writing.  Performance objectives in this course are high and the workload is challenging.  However, with a strong work ethic, you will be successful.
